Not Rated, 60 min, Directed by J.R. Hardman

Through the personal lens of filmmaker J.R. Hardman, “Reenactress” investigates the gender-bending women and transmen of American Civil War reenactment who crossdress to portray soldiers on the battlefield. These present-day reenactors commemorate historical women who lived secretly as men to fight in the Civil War for both the Confederacy and the Union.

The presentation will include the new trailer for the film, 2-3 rough cut scenes and, a behind-the-scenes Q&A with the director, J.R. Hardman moderated by Rachel Quist of Rachel’s SLC History Blog.

Part of the Made in Utah Film Series. Ticket proceeds will be support the completion of the film.

On Saturday, August 12th, join fellow supporters of the Reenactress documentary for a Birthday Party celebrating our Executive Producer, Andrew Crockett.

Beginning at 3:00PM at the Odd Fellows Community Center Hall in San José, CA, we'll show our brand new trailer on the big screen along with several other never-before-seen rough cut clips from the feature film followed by a Q&A with Reenactress director, J.R. Hardman.

The screening will be followed by a potluck birthday celebration for Andrew and a called Contra Dance so don't forget your dancing shoes.

We'll present a behind-the-scenes sneak-preview with our brand new trailer, rough cut clips from the film, and a Q&A session with Reenactress director, J.R. Hardman.

ADMISSION:
Admission is FREE and open to the public.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the Fort Douglas Military Museum, which is open on Saturdays from 12:00pm (noon) until 5:00pm.
